This One Thing: A Mis-Guide to Singing

Category: Technique

If I just:

place it here

use this chart

know every single

body part

If I just:

ring this vowel

on this one pitch

surely I will

cause the switch

If I just:

bring it up

or down I bear

hold my breath

release the air

If I just:

think of trees

or moons

or hooks

or balloons

or porcupines

or strings

If I just:

Do this class

own this book

write out cadenzas

or change my look

I’ll finally get

the sounds to ping…

but when, oh when

do I get to sing?

A poem, for you, my singing friends. The End.
